Why is the only choice for advanced online Multimedia also the worst choice, tedious and shit for animation, horrendous for positioning sound, terrible for integrating video unless its just a basic video player, fucking crap interface for coding.
You can tell the team don’t use it themselves because instead of designing an interface that works by researching it they just said “oh let them drag anything anywhere then they can put it however they like” with no research actually put into if the components you are dragging around actually work or not.
The Flash CS4 UI is like the worlds most customisable toolbox, but in every compartment there is just a different shaped turd.
As a developer who has to delve into Flash from time to time for $dayjob, this sums up my frustrations pretty well. What bothers me most is that it took them as long as it did before they thought Flex was a good idea (and even then, there’s plenty of confusion for a while and a good deal of foot-shooting going on).
