A short guide to some HTTP response codes

200 - OK
Here is the resource. kthxbai.
301 - Moved Permanently
The resource was here, but we moved it somewhere else. Future requests should be directed at the place we moved it to.
302 - Moved Temporarily
For some temporary reason or another, the resource you’re asking for can be found somewhere else, so go there instead. Don’t assume this will always be the case.
303 - See Other
What you’re looking for isn’t here, but this other thing may be helpful. Don’t assume this is a permanent state of affairs.
307 - Temporary Redirect
As 302, but the user agent shouldn’t retry the request with the new URI without prompting if the method is anything other than HEAD or GET. Can be cached if the response headers explicitly indicate as much.
404 - Not Found
The resource has never been here. Somebody did something foolish.
410 - Gone
The resource was here, but it’s been removed and there’s nothing elswhere take its place.
