Project Canvas
Yesterday, the first stage of consultation by the BBC Trust on Project Canvas closed. Unbeknownst to me, mind—the usual news outlets all carried news of it (back in December), but somehow I missed it.
Having read through the consultation document, a couple of things spring to mind:
If this is as open-ended as it claims to be, it will be exactly what I’ve been clamouring for. Essentially what iPlayer should have been.
(Despite having a stake in ITV, who are partnering on the project) I strongly suspect Sky will bitch and moan, as will Virgin Media.
Still, Joe Consumer here wants this to happen sooner rather than later, please.
