A project to create a complete archive that isn’t controlled or maintained by Apple of the publicly-released Darwin source packages.

The Kernel Source Archive was set up with the aim of preserving open source operating system kernels. Older sources are regularly “lost” as servers are taken offline and developers lose interest. Despite this, the releases are often of historical interest, especially given that over time projects inherit and borrow code from one another. With this in mind, hopefully the Kernel Source Archive will serve as a permanent home to operating system kernel sources such that enthusiasts, developers and researchers alike will have continued access to them.
